Volvo Penta D2 is an in-line 4-cylinder, 2.2-liter, naturally aspirated diesel engine with a camdriven in-line injection pump, and freshwater cooling. With low cruising rpm, the engine operates quietly with reduced vibrations.

Smooth operation with reduced vibration levels is achieved through a dynamically-balanced design incorporating efficient rubber isolation. Lower engine speed, along with an inlet air silencer, reduces noise levels and enhances onboard comfort.

This engine delivers high torque at low rpm, providing you with ample power and responsive handling when maneuvering in a marina, against strong headwinds, and in confined spaces.

With a rigid engine block and a one-piece cylinder head, this Volvo Penta marine diesel engine is designed and built for durability and strength. This ensures reliable performance and an extended service life.

High-capacity charging is standard. The 115A alternator is equipped with an electronic sensor designed to support higher battery capacity. Even at idle speed, the alternator provides more than 35A, and at cruising speed, it delivers approximately 100A.

The engine is equipped with freshwater cooling as standard. This helps reduce internal corrosion and allows the engine to maintain a stable working temperature in various conditions.
